When I heard a colleague say, "Leaders determine the speed of their team", I thought about presidents and CEOs who have a crystal clear vision for the future… but are frustrated with their team's lack of progress and results.

Research in the field of leadership validates that emotional intelligence (EI) is a competitive advantage in today's rapidly changing marketplace. Clarity surrounding self-awareness, self-management, social awareness, and relationship awareness is essential for leading a team that will over-achieve objectives. Lack of awareness in any of these four areas can negatively impact a leader's ability to see all the solutions to a problem. The result?
